Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have officially indicated a strong interest in Ismael Saibari, a young Moroccan international who shone during the last season for PSV Eindhoven.
At 25, the attacking midfielder has scored 18 goals and provided 9 assists in 35 games, a record which places him among the most productive players in the Eredivisie. These performances have sparked a race between two European giants, each looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the next campaign.
Bayern, current leaders of the Bundesliga, have already started to closely monitor Saibari's contractual situation. According to sources close to the Bavarian club, the managers are considering an offer which could compete with the standards of the German transfer window, while taking into account the salary cap imposed by the league.
For their part, Paris Saint-Germain, who recently made the record transfer of Achraf Hakimi for 68 million euros, see Saibari as an opportunity to add dynamism to their midfield. The Parisian club, accustomed to large investments, could offer an attractive contract, in particular thanks to its marketing capabilities in Asia and North Africa.
PSV Eindhoven, aware of the market value of its prodigy, is already preparing a succession plan. Coach Peter Bosz reportedly declared that the club wants to maximize the sale price while ensuring that the player benefits from a sporting project that matches his ambitions.
On an economic level, Saibari's transfer could be part of the trend of European clubs to invest more in talents from the Moroccan diaspora. This dynamic can be explained by the growing visibility of the national team during international competitions, as well as the player's ability to quickly adapt to the tactical demands of the big leagues.
In France, PSG's interest in Saibari is also part of a strategy to diversify its workforce, in order to reduce dependence on a few stars. The Parisian club, which recently experienced disappointments during the summer transfer window, is banking on versatile players capable of immediately contributing in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
The summer transfer window therefore promises to be very lively, with two leading clubs ready to compete to secure the services of a player whose value continues to increase. The next few weeks will determine whether Saibari joins Bayern, PSG or stays at PSV for one last challenge before taking the plunge.
