The dynamism of the sector is based on several levers: the increase in the number of direct flights from the United States, the development of new hotel complexes and the implementation of intelligent infrastructure aimed at improving the traveler experience.
At the Trade Show 2026 in Miami, Dominican representatives presented an economic impact estimated at $15 billion, highlighting the importance of tourism for national GDP and local job creation.
At the same time, the government has launched sustainable travel initiatives, including upgrading airports with energy management systems and promoting eco-tours for environmentally conscious tourists.
These measures appealed to American operators, who increased their reception capacities by 12% in 2025, thus strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
Analysts estimate that the trend will continue, with forecasts for 2026 already announcing more than 9 million stays, supported by continued investments in online booking technologies and the digitalization of tourism services.
