A deplatformed truck overturned on BR-101, km 92, in Barra Velha, North of Santa Catarina, at around 11:35 am this Saturday (7), completely blocking the highway in the North direction.
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the incident was recorded this Friday morning and completely blocked local lanes. The white Scania truck had been crossed over the lane divider: the cabin had fallen onto the asphalt, while the body rested on the concrete wall.
Still in the south direction, one of the lanes was also blocked while the situation was being dealt with. The PRF confirmed the total closure of traffic at around 11:35 am and there was no forecast for release that afternoon.
The accident mobilized rapid teams and collected the vehicle involved for technical analysis. Understanding the location encouraged kilometer-long queues on marginal roads along BR-101.
There were no injuries reported by official sources at the time of recording. However, the total closure of the highway caused considerable inconvenience for drivers traveling through the coastal region of the State.
The PRF reassured interested parties: the bodies were preserved and the investigation would begin on site in the morning.
Drivers contacted the PRF directly via central 190 for updated information on alternative detours along BR-369 or BR-470.
Until 8 pm this Saturday, there was no official forecast for the full reopening of the freed lanes nor formal confirmation of definitive release by the PRF.
