In Faenza, the closure of the waste collection center in Via Righi, initially planned for six months, was extended to eight months due to delays in the renovation work. This extension impacts the daily management of household waste, forcing residents to resort to temporary alternative solutions, while the temporary ecological island near the Palacattani remains operational to mitigate the inconvenience.
In the Bologna plain, Hera is continuing its efforts to renew the aqueduct network, with scheduled interventions that cause drops in water pressure. For example, last Tuesday, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., work in Galliera and Malalbergo led to disruptions, including a lack of water in the upper floors of homes, highlighting the vulnerability of the systems during these critical phases.
In Ravenna, night work is planned for Wednesday March 4, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., as part of an aqueduct network efficiency project. These interventions could cause temporary interruptions in the water supply in several fractions, with risks of pressure variations or discoloration of the water after restoration, requiring clear communication with users.
These situations illustrate the compromises between the need to modernize aging infrastructure and the inconvenience caused to populations. Hera must juggle tight schedules, technical constraints and the expectations of local communities, while ensuring that the impacts on daily life are minimized.
The delays observed, as in Faenza, raise questions about the planning and execution of projects, particularly in the context of the PNRR funds (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) which partly finance this work.
