Lazio is preparing to face Milan this Sunday March 15, 2026 at 8:45 p.m. at the Olimpico stadium, in a match on the 29th day of Serie A which promises to be intense. With nearly 50,000 spectators expected, the atmosphere will be electric, and coach Maurizio Sarri underlined the importance of this meeting for the supporters.
Sarri held a press conference to present his team's strategy, highlighting the challenges posed by Milan. He described the opponent as a formation with exceptional technical and physical qualities, requiring constant vigilance to avoid giving them too much space.
The conditions of Lazio players are being closely scrutinized, in particular that of Alessio Romagnoli, uncertain for this match against his former club. Sarri also discussed the period of Mattia Zaccagni and Daniel Maldini, as well as the goalkeeping choices with Motta and Furlanetto following recent injuries.
The coach insisted on the need to control the ball, emphasizing that Milan are particularly dangerous in transition. According to him, the riskiest moment for Lazio could be when they have the ball, due to the opponent's quick counter-attacking abilities.
This match is of strategic importance in the race for European places, with Lazio looking to consolidate their position. Sarri reiterated that every point counts at this stage of the season, and that team cohesion will be crucial to overcome difficulties.
Lazio supporters are mobilized, with Sarri planning to go under the North Stand to share a moment with them before kick-off. This proximity to the fans is seen as a motivating element for the players in a context of high pressure.
In the landscape of Italian football, this confrontation is reminiscent of historic duels, sometimes evoking matches like Juventus-Napoli. Sarri, however, avoided getting too far ahead of the comparisons, preferring to focus on immediate preparation.
While Milan arrives in good shape, Lazio will have to demonstrate discipline and creativity to hope to win. Sarri concluded by affirming that his team is ready to take on the challenge, with the clear objective of delivering a victory to the supporters present at the Olimpico.
