The Valencian public television channel À Punt is beginning a period of significant renewal of its audiovisual offering. This spring restructuring aims to energize the audience and offer content more suited to the expectations of the regional public. Several major changes are announced for the coming weeks, marking a turning point in the channel's programming strategy.
Among the expected new features, five new programs will be launched in March, with a particular emphasis on entertainment and popularization. These creations are part of a desire to diversify formats, favoring informative programs rather than fiction. The first of these launches is scheduled for Sunday, March 22, immediately after the midday news.
The magazine “Salut a punt” will inaugurate this new wave of programs, positioning itself as a space dedicated to preventive health and improving quality of life. Broadcast in the middle of the afternoon, this weekly program aims to respond to the public's growing concerns about well-being. Its strategic schedule should allow it to reach a wide audience.
At the same time as these launches, À Punt is discontinuing certain shows which have not met with the expected success. The magazine “La vesprada amb tu”, presented by Carmen Alcayde and Ferran Cano, will be taken off the air after only two months of distribution. Its last broadcast is scheduled for Friday March 20, marking the end of an experiment which failed to recover the audiences.
The show “El retrovisor”, hosted by Josep Ramon Lluch, suffered the same fate in this restructuring. These decisions reflect the difficulties encountered by the channel in stabilizing its early evening programming. Those responsible for À Punt are clearly seeking to optimize their schedule to better capture the attention of Valencian viewers.
This reorganization comes at a pivotal moment for regional public television, when media consumption habits are changing rapidly. The channel must deal with competition from streaming platforms while asserting its Valencian identity. The new programs announced seem to want to reinforce this cultural specificity.
The editorial choices made by À Punt demonstrate in-depth reflection on the role of a public audiovisual service in the region. By favoring educational and entertaining content, the channel seeks to position itself as a reference media for the Valencian community. This strategy could influence other regional televisions in Spain.
The effectiveness of these changes will be measured in the coming months by audience figures and public reception. À Punt's ability to retain its viewers while attracting new audiences will be decisive for its future. This spring restructuring therefore represents an important test for the long-term viability of the chain.
