The opening match pits FC Barcelona, a giant of fútbol sala, against Valdepeñas, a team determined to create a surprise, in a context of strong mobilization of supporters.
FC Barcelona, led by coach Javi Rodríguez, traveled to Granada on Thursday afternoon, arriving by plane from Barcelona airport around 4:30 p.m. This careful preparation underlines the importance that the club attaches to this competition, aiming to add a new trophy to its already well-stocked list of achievements. The Blaugrana players began their final tactical rehearsals, seeking to optimize their collective game against a formidable opponent.
For their part, Valdepeñas enjoy massive support from their local community, with more than 2,000 fans expected to travel to Granada and cheer on their team. Teniente de alcalde Vanessa Irla officially wished the players good luck during a farewell ceremony organized by the town hall, emphasizing the fighting spirit necessary to face a rival of the stature of Barça. This mobilization illustrates the social impact of sport in small Spanish towns.
