TF1 relance le format familial avec la version belge de 'Ma mère, ton père'

The channel chose to bet on a local adaptation after the disappointing audience score of the original version in 2022.

In this new version, nine families compete in a villa lined with mirrors and sentimental quizzes. Episode 2 offered some unhappy awakenings, but also unexpected reunions between former lovers of the participants.

The children fight to win rewards in response to twisted questions about their parents.

This Belgian version introduces cultural variations: meals between cousins, role plays on married life, and a strong influence of social networks. The cameras capture the tensions, the stolen kisses, and the heavy silences over breakfast.

One participant declared having “rediscovered his ex after twenty years of separation”, a moment that the producers had not anticipated.

In Wallonia, the public reacts favorably: the engagement rate on social networks jumped by 40% in one week.

The next episodes will be broadcast every Friday on TF1+, with a special evening planned for May 15.
