Al-Ahli overthrow Auckland City and reach the semi-finals of the 2025 Intercontinental Cup

Al-Ahli pockets 2 million dollars. The final winner of the Intercontinental Cup, which is played on December 18 at Lusail Stadium, will receive $5 million. Auckland City leaves Doha with $1 million in prize money, the largest amount in its history.

The Saudis' path has only just begun. In the semi-final, Al-Ahli will face 2025 Copa Libertadores winners Flamengo on December 16, 2025 at the Education City stadium in Doha. The Brazilian club defeated Egyptian Pyramids FC 4-0 earlier in the day.

Al-Ahli could cross paths with Karim Benzema. In the event of victory in the semi-final, the Saudis will challenge Real Madrid, PSG or Botafogo in the final depending on the route. Real Madrid of Mbappé and Bellingham enter the fray on Friday. The shock is already expected.
