Caoa Changan announces domestic production of two new SUVs in Brazil in 2026

Sino-Brazilian automobile group Caoa Changan has revealed plans to strengthen its presence in the Brazilian market with the domestic production of two new SUV models, the CS55 and CS75, scheduled for 2026. This announcement, made on March 28, 2026, is part of an industrial expansion strategy aimed at capitalizing on the growing demand for sport utility vehicles in the region.

Caoa Changan's total investments in Brazil now reach 8 billion reais, with a major expansion of the Anápolis factory, in the state of Goiás. The built area has been increased to approximately 208,000 square meters, making it possible to accommodate the production of these new models as well as future electrified versions of the Chinese brand Changan.

The CS75, already marketed in other international markets, stands out for its 1.5 turbo engine developing 192 horsepower and a torque of 31.6 kgfm, offering higher performance than the recent Uni-T. In terms of dimensions, it compares to the Jaecoo 7, while the interior promises advanced technological equipment adapted to the expectations of Brazilian consumers.

This initiative represents a structural turning point for Caoa, which is now diversifying its production between the Caoa Chery and Changan brands. By concentrating local manufacturing, the group aims to reduce costs and delivery times, while meeting increasingly strict environmental standards in Brazil, particularly with the progressive integration of hybrid and electric technologies.

The launch of these SUVs comes at a time when the Brazilian automotive sector is experiencing recovery after the disruptions linked to the pandemic. Analysts estimate that this national production could create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, thus boosting the local economy and strengthening the competitiveness of the industry in the region.

The CS55 and CS75 models will be assembled in the same factory as the Uni-T and Avatr 11, with sales expected as early as this year. This integrated approach allows Caoa Changan to optimize its supply chains and maintain competitive pricing, essential to capturing market share in a highly competitive segment.

The implications of this expansion go beyond just product launches. They reflect a broader trend in the global automotive industry, where international collaborations, such as that between Caoa and Changan, are becoming crucial to innovate and adapt to technological and regulatory developments.

With these developments, Caoa Changan positions itself as a key player in the transition to more sustainable mobility in Brazil, while consolidating its reputation as a brand focused on quality and accessibility. Consumers can expect vehicles that combine modern design, performance and energy efficiency, meeting the varied needs of the Brazilian market.
