The National Police of Haiti foiled a kidnapping attempt this Thursday in “Frère”, at the intersection near the PNH Academy, in the municipality of Pétion-Ville.

The alleged kidnappers who were on board a black armored Hilux Pickup, registered AA17409, were trying to escape with the victim when the vehicle was intercepted by a police patrol. These thugs were forced to abandon the vehicle as well as the hostage, shooting in all directions.
Following the multiple cases of kidnapping recorded in recent days, the Commander-in-Chief of the National Police, Frantz Elbé, had instructed the heads of police jurisdictions, particularly in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, to strengthen the police presence at strategic points to thwart the kidnappers. This morning at Croix-des-Bouquets, the National Police intervened in time to prevent the “400 Mawozo” gangs from hijacking a Capital Coach Line bus which was transporting passengers to the Dominican Republic.
