Pulkovo Airport in Saint Petersburg is stepping up its game with the introduction of a new digital boarding pass system, aiming to revolutionize the passenger experience and improve operational efficiency.
Starting from October 1, 2023, Pulkovo Airport will launch a pilot program for its digital boarding pass service. This initiative is part of the airport's ongoing efforts to modernize its facilities and align with global aviation standards.
The new system allows passengers to print or display their boarding passes on their smartphones, eliminating the need for physical documents at the check-in counter and reducing lines at security checkpoints.
This move comes as a response to increasing demands for digital solutions in air travel and the growing adoption of mobile technology among travelers. According to airport officials, the digital boarding pass system is expected to save time and enhance security measures.
The upgrade is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2023, with plans to expand the service across all terminals by early 2024.
