Des agents de la Police Nationale d’Haïti ont procédé, ce mercredi 12 mai 2022, à l’arrestation de 6 individus dans les localités de Diègue, Métivier et Doco, dans la commune de Petion-Ville.
These individuals, all members of the gang led by the name Vitelòm, are Valsaint Antoine, Aka Empereur Toutou, Boussicot Emmanuel Evens, Lamour Johny, Peterson Bemduette, Baubrun Bensley and Étienne Bebetho.
Furthermore, the police claim to have arrested 5 other members of this gang in exchanges of fire.
During this operation, three firearms including a Glock 23, 9mm caliber and two vehicles were confiscated by the police.
The National Police say they are determined to dismantle this gang network which specializes in cases of kidnapping, assassination and vehicle theft.
During the same day of Thursday, May 12, the Pétion-Ville Police deflected a kidnapping attempt at the Carrefour de l'Academie (Route Frères) thanks to the strengthening of devices and deployment aimed at countering this phenomenon.
