Accused of pedophilia, former minister Evans Escouflair banned from leaving the country
After refusing the invitation of the government commissioner of Port-au-Prince to be heard on the charges against him, former minister Evans Escouflair was banned from leaving the prosecution.
The Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, Mr. Jacques Lafontant, in a letter addressed this Friday, May 13, 2022, to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration, asks Mr. Joseph Ciancuili to pass formal instructions to the competent service so that the person named Evans Escouflair is prohibited from leaving the national territory by sea, land and air.

Note that Mr. Escouflair, Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action from 2008 to 2011 under the presidency of Mr. René Gracia Préval, is the subject of a series of complaints for rape of a minor and pedophilia while he was a gymnastics teacher at the Saint Louis de Gonzague Institution around the 1980s.
This scandal of rape of minors and pedophilia is not new in Haiti, particularly among the Brothers of Christian Instruction (FIC/SLG). The president of the St. Louis Sports Club was already the subject of a double complaint for rape of Wilio Dor and pedophilia of a 16-year-old minor for facts dating back to January 2, 2010.
And especially within the Haitian Football Federation, several leaders of this entity were sanctioned by the International Amateur Football Federation, including former President Yves Jean Bart.
